How to pair my Plantronics Bluetooth headset with my cell phone?

Procedure (Applies to M20/M24/M50)

First time pairing:

Image of the M20 QuickPair Process

The M20, M24, and M50 feature QuickPair technology, which means that the first time you turn the headset on, it automatically goes into pairing (discoverable) mode. To pair the headset,

  1. Turn on your device’s Bluetooth feature.
  2. Turn the headset on. The light on the headset should start flashing an alternating red-blue. If it doesn’t, refer to the “Subsequent pairing” instructions below. Set the headset aside.
  3. On your cell phone, go to the Bluetooth menu and search for (or add) a device. The cell phone should find the headset. The M20 appears as “PLT_M20” in your list of devices, and the M50 appears as “PLT_M50.”
  4. If prompted for a passkey, enter 0000 (four zeros). Note: Do not be alarmed if your phone does not prompt you for a passkey, because many phones do not.

Subsequent pairing:

If you need to pair the headset to your phone again – or to another device – you can do so by performing the following:

  1. Turn on your device’s Bluetooth feature.
  2. Turn the headset on.
  3. Press and hold the call control button for about 5-6 seconds until the light on the headset starts flashing an alternating red-blue. Release the button and set the headset aside.
  4. On your cell phone, go to the Bluetooth menu and search for (or add) a device. The cell phone should find the headset. The M20 appears as “PLT_M20” in your list of devices, and the M50 appears as “PLT_M50.”
  5. If prompted for a passkey, enter 0000 (four zeros). Note: Do not be alarmed if your phone does not prompt you for a passkey, because many phones do not.
